Zakopane – cross-country skiing trail on Górna Rówień Krupowa mountain meadow.

Górna Rówień Krupowa is a huge meadow located in the very heart of Zakopane, which was entered on the list of historic monuments. With it slight slope, it provides ideal conditions to take your first steps in cross-country skiing. It is also good for exercising telemarking and cross-overs on curves. It is lit by city lights, allowing skiing after dark. The 4-km long trail meanders across the meadow, allowing for maximum use of space. Unfortunately, the trail is laid out near walking paths, which means that it is sometimes destroyed by pedestrians, children or dogs. When skiing, you should also be careful not to scratch the skis on the gravel and sand (at intersections with pedestrian paths). The trail is refreshed after every snowfall, and every two days at longer intervals between precipitations. Getting there is not difficult: walking from the railway station, you can reach the trail in about 15 minutes. There is a parking lot available nearby. The trail hosts regular  Night Cross-Country Skiing events, organised by the "Cross-country skiing in the Tatra Mountains" group on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM when there is enough snow cover.
