Zawoja is a well known holiday resort and has a lot to offer both in the winter and summer season. Its scenic location at the foot of the massif of Babia Góra, as well as good tourist infrastructure are a magnet for snow sports enthusiasts. Local ski runs will satisfy both beginners and advanced skiers. The town is also becoming increasingly popular with families with small children.

Getting there: You can reach Zawoja from Kraków either through Sułkowice and Sucha Beskidzka (a shorter route, but using narrow and winding roads: no. 7 to Głogoczów, no. 52 to Izdebnik, no. 956 to Zembrzyce, no. 28 to Maków Podhalański and no. 957 to Zawoja – 85 km), or through Myślenice and Jordanów (a longer route, but on a dual carriageway no. 7 all the way to Lubień, and then on roads no. 28 and 957 – 100 km).

Mosorny Groń ski Station in Zawoja offers a chairlift with the capacity of 2400 people per hour, smaller T-bar lifts and 1420 m of runs of varying difficulty. The runs are artificially lit and snow groomed. Several running tracks complete the offer for skiers. In close proximity of the upper and lower stations there are stylish buildings: a hotel, restaurants, a shop and a GOPR station. There is also a professional skiing school which provides full service.
